DOCTOR AT PATIENTS DOOR – STEP

AAPI Charitable Hospital has adopted few villages in the vicinity of Kartarpur where the doctor alongwith the staff makes visits in the forenoon, provides necessary treatment & medicines to the patients and gives immunization to children – all free of cost.

ANNUAL FREE EYE & DENTAL CHECKUP CAMP - NOV. 2003

Organised on 30th Nov. 2003 at Hospital's new block, Sh. Avinash Chopra, Joint Editor, Punjab Kesri, Jalandhar. inaugurated, Dr. Satbir Singh, M.D and Dr.Shalu M.D., from USA presided the event . Camp was also attend by Mr. Paramjit S. Johal & Mr. Manjit S. Johal of Mississauga,ON Canada, the camp was organised in association with LoinsClub Kartarpur. 

 

Lion Prof. Ravi Manuja (Distt.Chairman Sight First) was guest of honour. Dignitaries from surrounding places and Lions Club members grace the occasion 485 patients for Eye & 94 for Dental Check up got benefit. 80 Eye operations & IOLs  implanted in the camp . Dr. M.P.S. Bhatia M.S. and team conducted the camp.

FREE GEN. HEALTH CAMP - APRIL 2003

At Hospital, Free General Health Camp was organized on 6th April 2003.. More than 500 patients were examined for Covering Eye, Dental, Ortho, Gynae, Skin, ENT and Pediatric diseases. Also Lab Tests, Ultrasound Scanning provided free of charge. Patients got follow up treatment at Hospital.

 Annual Eye Camp was organized on  8th Dec. 2002  where 610 patients  were checked and 60 operations were performed and lenses implanted to needies. Our special  thanks are due towards LIONS CLUB KARTARPUR, who are always ready to co-ordinate in such camps.

 

FREE EYE CAMPS : 1991-2001


Regular Free Eye Camps areheld on the premises of hospital where cataract surgeries are performed restoring vision to the blind. During these free Eye Camps, surgeries are done free of cost. Boarding & Lodging is free, glasses and all medicines are given free of cost. In addition, free medical camps sponsored by Charitable Organizations are also arranged periodically for the benefit of patients. Professional assistance from Guru Nanak Mission Hospital, Jalandhar during these Camps is appreciated.


 3 Day Event Completed with Great Success

 


Nov. 7 ‘2000 at 9:00 a.m. EYE CAMP inaugurated by Sh. VIJAY KALHAN, Secretary of KARTARPUR CHARITABLE FUND, CANADA. Poor and underprivileged people started lining up at 7:00 a.m. Over 800 patients were examined by Dr. M.P.S. Bhatia, M.S. & his team. 65 patients were operated for Cataract Surgery and 30 patients had lens implants. Free Lodging, Meals and all other services were provided by local team of volunteers and staff of AAPI Charitable Hospital. Patients stayed for 3 days and examined. They discharged in the evening of Nov. 9 ‘2000. Again free medicines and Fruits, Snacks were provided for their return journey to their villages. Very emotional and thrilling experience for our NRIs to witness this abject poverty.

Dr. SARJIT SINGH, MD and his wife Dr. (Mrs.) RANJIT SINGH from United States were special guests. Dr. Singh is the past president of AAPI, USA. This hospital was established when Dr. S. Singh was president in 1991.
